Research On Management Of General Contracting Based On BIM-5D

Building Information Modeling is an information technology innovation of theconstruction. With the developing and maturing of China’s construction market, BIMhas become used more widely. BIM’s IT has a high superiority in improving projectquality, reducing of time and cost and so on. Currently widely used in the constructionindustry are the BIM technology of three-dimensional, four-dimensional, which aremainly related to the designing, construction, and other aspects of the budget, but lessinvolved in the costs and contract management. The total construction contractingmodel is now widely used in a contract model, based on the characteristics of theconstruction project and operational activities, which refers to the owners of the projectrequirements as the goal, combined with the total contractor for the construction of itsown management needs of all the daily affairs of the administration. Although this stageof contract management has formed a relatively mature processes, to some extent, toensure the smooth progress of the project, but more emphasis on content categories,such as document management and archiving, as well as the timeliness of the contract,progress payments pay warning and other issues must be resolved.Based on the questions above, contacting mechanisms existing construction contractmanagement and the development of building information modeling (BIM) applications,many domestic and foreign scholars and experts have proposed a model based on theplatform of the total construction BIM contract management module, many domestic andforeign scholars and experts had developed the total construction contract softwares basedon BIM platform management to solve the above issues related to contract management.The topic of this paper is proposed based on the BIM-5D model. Firstly, understands thegeneral contract management and related concepts of BIM model accuratly, and makes a briefintroduction of the application of BIM. Then, it introduces a series of problems characterizedby BIM-5D model and modeling process difficulty focusing, analies project constructioncontract management comprehensivly, and initially aims to find a solution on this model.Secondly, it establishs contract management module, provides a platform for the realization ofa contract management application. Finally, on one hand, taking a brief run of a buildingconstruction project, on the other hand, describeing the application of general contractingconstruction based on BIM-5D model, and by summarizing their experience and inadequatecontract management, puts forward recommendations to promote contract managementsolutions which is based on BIM-5D model.
