A Large Gear Measuring Center is a high-precision measurement equipmentdesigned for the offline measurement of large gears which is characterized by its highefficiency, high precision and wide application, it can measure the tooth profiledeviation, pitch deviation, helix deviation and other deviations of a large gear throughonly one time assembling. However, because of large gears’ large size and large massand the structural deformation of the large gear measuring center, the upper apex willdeviate from the theoretical position, making it difficult to pair the large gears’geometric centerline and the measurement center’s spindle centerline, so it’s hard toeliminate installation errors, thus reducing the measuring precision. This thesis is aimedat the problem of the installation error of large gears, with large involute spur gear as theresearch object, a large gear installation error compensation system is developed.Firstly, the research status of gear measurement and gear installation errorcompensation technology were introduced; secondly, while mathematical modeling forthe involute spur gear, normal vector equation and the equation in Cartesiancoordinates of the involute tooth surface is derived; thirdly, gear mounting position andorientation error was analyzed and the position and orientation parameters weredetermined in both cases with and without apex, a gear mounting position andorientation error compensation model was established based on the principle ofcoordinate transformation; fourthly, in order to determine the position and orientationparameters of a gear, a gear position parameter measurement program was establishedin two ways chucking, then using the principle of least squares and practical harmonicanalysis technology to write the MATLAB data processing program; finally, combininggear mounted position and orientation parameters and error compensation model, acalculation method of tooth profile deviation was developed.At the end of this thesis, the calibration scheme was verified through themeasurement of the gear model and internal tooth cylindrical gear on a Tong He T50gear measurement center, and the correctness of the error compensation system wasconfirmed through the corrected measurement result of a gear model mounted withposition and orientation error.
