In order to show the importance of ecological planning for urban development, building a healthy ecosystem, and exploring the ecological planning for urban development, the object of study of the thesis is Zhuting Town in Zhuzhou County, based on the analysis of historical issues and current condition of urban ecosystem, evaluate the ecological footprint and ecological carrying capacity, and the use of ecological planning, ecological footprint, ecological suitability analysis theory,Using field survey, graphic contrast and analyze relevant mathematical formulas superimposed manner on Zhuting Town, came to the conclusion of Ecological Assessment and Land Suitability Analysis of Zhuting Town, and overall planning Zhuting Town, the main findings are as follows(1) Zhuting town’s natural resources is rich. The ancient town pays much attention to the protection of historical relics, and respects the local traditional culture and religious belief.(2) With a little the town’s population movements in recent years, the main population is of agriculture, which makes the town’s economic prop for trade and traditional industry to agriculture.(3) On the basis of relatively perfect infrastructure, the township government is really concerned about the cultivation of the talent, and actively engaged in education career.(4) As for Zhuting town ecosystem evaluation, through the analysis of the ecological footprint and ecological carrying capacity, the residents’consumption of Zhuting town is beyond ecological carrying capacity. This means that the safety of the ecosystem is in danger.(5) As for land suitability evaluation of Zhuting town, altitude area of60-100m, and the slope of0.00to5.00account for the largest percentage, the area river across is almost plain. Because of the basin obviously influenced by seasonal, runoff seasonal distribution is not uniform. If once every50years of storm comes, submerged area of nearly1000km2will expand. Flooded homes will increase.To sum up, the conclusions can be followings:(1) The calculation of ecological footprint and ecological carrying capacity for Zhu Ting town ecological planning has strong feasibility, and great help.(2) Through the analysis and evaluation of land suitability, the land is divided into three categories before planning, suitable building area, unfavorable building area, and exclusion area.(3) Ecological planning must be included in town planning, and occupy the important position. Under scientific analysis and calculation, the data to the planning supports as the guidance.
