With the speeding up of urbanization in our country, more and more people livein cities, and the current urban living form is given priority to with residential district,the outdoor environment of residential district is directly related to people’s quality oflife, and the outdoor wind environment is an important index of evaluation of outdoorenvironment. Outdoor wind environment has a direct impact on the safety and comfortof people in outdoor activities, it also has a great influence on the building indoorventilation and building energy consumption. Residential outdoor wind environmentis related to community local topography, wind direction, the local architecturallayout form, building density, building floor area ratio and other factors. Therefore, itis necessary to study the various factors influence on the wind environment so as toget a better wind environment.There are three main methods to research the outdoor wind environment ofresidential district: field measurement, wind tunnel test and numerical simulation. Onthe basis of summarizing the predecessors’ research results, this paper uses the Fluentsoftware to simulate the outdoor wind environment and focus on the impact of theform of community building layout, building density, building floor area ratio andwind direction to the outdoor wind environment, and with the wind velocity ratio andage of air on pedestrian-level to evaluate the outdoor wind environment.This paper study the outdoor wind environment of the four kinds of layout in theform of commonly used in residential district under the dominant wind direction, andusing the wind velocity ratio and age of air as the evaluation index. On this basis,based on the determinant layout, building density and building volume rate is studiedon the influence of the outdoor wind environment, and some qualitative andquantitative relationship are obtained. Paper finally study wind environment of fourkinds of layout forms under different wind direction, and with the angle between thewind and the building Lord windward side vertical indicating the wind direction, thensome quantitative relationship are obtained. In this paper, the research can providereference for the residential district planning and design, and play a guiding role.
