Research On The Vernacular Landscape Construction Of Historical Village:a Case Study On Likeng And Xiaoqi Village In Wuyuan County

(1) Through literature analysis, field surveys, questionnaires, interviews and observation to discuss deeply about vernacular landscape’s meaning, constitution, relative aspects of landscape construction, and pose a widespread framework on vernacular landscape construction. Here are the main content and conclutions.(2) This article analyzes the status quo of the history and practice of vernacular landscape construction. Then it is a fact that there is differences between foreign and domestic practice in protecting vernacular landscape. Otherwise, the way in constructing is similar.(3) Basic theory of vernacular landscape. With a view to compare rural landscape and vernacular landscape to define the later. Then with analyzing the marginal concept which concluding ideal society, idyllic aesthetics and new-vernacular landscape to help understanding clearly what vernacular landscape is. Also this article raises a concept that vernacular landscape is compose of natural landscape, idyllic producing and living landscape, rural settlement and architecture landscape, traditional cuture and folk-custom landscape.(4) Then, there are surveys on tourists and residents on vernacular landscape perception. The outcomes show that tourist think the vernacular is combining spiritual enjoyment and visual enjoument. Otherwise, villagers have contradiction on vernacular landscape protection that high willing to protect and low willing to practice. There is also an analysis about the differences in local landscape features between Likeng and Xiaoqi Village to help understand how management system and tourism development influence the landscape.(5) Finally, an universal guiding framework for a wider range of historical villages with vernacular landscape construction is designed which includes three parts, vernacularism assessments, vernacular landscape design and the support system of landscape construction. This thesis has an innovative work which is combining material landscape analysis and landscape perception survey and considering the implementation aspects of landscape construction. Another important conclution is that emphasize constructing the idyllic producing and living landscape and reviving traditional cuture and folk-custom landscape.
