Spurred by the economic globalization, the competition between enterprises isbecoming increasingly intense. Nowadays, the competition has no longer beenrepresented in the field of product quality only, but more in the domain of the productpackaging. As people’s living standards continuing to rise, the consuming psychology isgradually changing. The consumer demand for product elevates from material standardto spiritual level. Only by improving the design quality of product package, can therequirements of consumers be satisfied. Therefore, the package design plays animportant role in boosting competitiveness of products. The value of the product lies inboth the realization of its own worth and the impact on enterprises and consumers.Consequently, the influence of package design involves the product itself, enterprise andconsumer, etc.Currently, China’s package design is relatively backward as well as the product isless competitive in the markets. This paper starts with the current situation of China’spackage design, and then analyzes the influence of package design on product value indetails based on mastering the product basic attributes.First, package design is a synthetic subject, a packaging art consists of overlappedvarious significant design factors. Materials, structures, forms and art elements playdiverse roles in the package design. Though each ingredient has different effects on theproducts, the design elements and packaging function will affect the product value.Second, value forms of cultural, economical, practical, aesthetic and affectional arecontained in the package design. Various values will be affected by package design inthe practical application. According to this, this paper is searching for effects of packagedesign on product value in every aspect.Next, outstanding package design will affect the product value greatly, especiallyin the value adding. This paper investigates the application of package design inmaximizing the added value based on the current consumption structure.Finally, the influences of package on the product value in China have not beenthoroughly studied, the practicing on internal work of the product is paid more attentionwhile the external work has been neglected. Based on the analysis of current packagesituation of China, packaging function and product value, constructive suggestions areproposed for the development of China’s package design in this paper in order toexplore further in the study on the influence of package design on the product value.
