Installing openings in reinforced concrete beams to accommodate equipment ducts and pipes is an effective method to reduce floor height and save cost, thus to increase the utilization rate and comprehensive economic benefit. Comparing with the other structure systems commonly used to reduce floor height, reinforced concrete beams with openings bring lease unfavorable effect to the overall structural performance of the whole building, and possess the advantages of better mechanical properties and less material usage. With all the obvious superiorities, the application prospect is rather wide in the engineering practices.Study of the mechanical property of the concrete beams with openings is not sufficient and systematic so far, sophisticated design theory and analysis method have not been obtained yet. Design codes of different countries, including Chinese, lack of definite guides and formulas to the analysis and design of concrete beams with openings, which hinders the promotion and application of this structure system. So it has great theoretic meanings and practical values to study the mechanism properties of concrete beams with openings, and to discover its working mechanism and design theories, thus to establish a whole set of sophisticated and practical design method, analysis formulas and detailing requirement.This thesis mainly focuses on the shear resistance of the reinforced concrete beams with openings under concentrated load. ABAQUS finite element is used to make shear resistance nonlinear analysis of the RC simply supported beam with openings. The researches mainly contain the following two aspects:(1) Analyse different parameters with ABAQUS finite element analyzing software, mainly on the influence on the shear resistance and stiffness of the beams with openings caused by height, length, and positions of the rectangular openings, the shear span ratio, concrete strength, forms of the openings and distance in between, as well as strengthening the web reinforcement. The analysis result well coincides with the literary testing results, which testifies that the ABAQUS software has good nonlinear analysis ability.(2) Use strut-and-tie model to make theoretical analysis on beams with openings, and introduce the shear resistance preliminary calculation method on the basis of strut-and-tie model. Put forward the shear resistance calculation method of the RC beams with abdomen openings and some structural measures.The research of this thesis is limited and need to be further deepened. However, it is highly hoped that the research results can provide some reference to the engineering technicians. |
