With the increase in ultraviolet(UV) radiation meter application, the requirements forthe efficiency and precision towards ultraviolet radiation meter verification become higherand higher. However, the ultraviolet radiation meter verification device in use is completelyoperated by manual. Using present verification device, the verification process is usuallycumbersome, the calibrating time always takes long, and the accuracy is also low, so it’sdifficult to meet the needs of the daily verification work. In this paper, according to theprinciple of the ultraviolet irradiation meter calibration, a set of high-precision displacementauto-control system for ultraviolet radiation meter verification device was designed, based onthe existing UV irradiation gauge verification device. Under the action of the single chipmicrocontroller (SCM) control system, this system realized the accurate positioningautomatically for the UV light receiving surface of the ultraviolet radiation meter, rotary ofthe ultraviolet irradiation meter positioning device as well as its horizontal displacement.Absolutely, it realized the automation of the ultraviolet irradiation meter calibration.The successful design of the ultraviolet radiation meter verification device displacementcontrol system will greatly improve the efficiency and accuracy for the calibration operationin metrology department, reduce the labor intensity of workers, and improve the verificationprecision for the long time continuous working condition. The practical value of the systemdesigned in the project will be significant, and it will generate great economic and socialbenefits in the future.In this subject, some important research contents were reported as follows:Firstly, this article detailed the ultraviolet irradiation meter calibration principle,discussed the problems of existing ultraviolet irradiation meter verification device, studiedand analyzed the research status of ultraviolet irradiation meter verification device at homeand abroad, and then some requirements we should satisfy for this system were defined, onthe basis of the need of the daily verification work.According to the principle of the ultraviolet irradiation meter calibration and the systemdesign requirements, the paper determined the overall scheme of the system, introduced the system’s working principle in detail, and explained the hardware composition of system whichwas divided into mechanical system and motion control system.With the overall scheme and the operating principle of the system, the article expatiatedthe hardware and software design of the SCM control system. The hardware part mainlyincluded hardware circuit realization and Printed Circuit Board (PCB) producing. Thesoftware part used the single-chip C language (C51) for modular programming, which mainlyincluded the main program and three sub-modules.Using simulated test and error analysis, the system’s various parts function and accuracywere tested for its accuracy. The system test consisted of stepping motor drive signal accuracytest, displacement measurement accuracy test and fault diagnostic test. The testing resultshowed that the system can realize its function and reliable operation with its rational design.
