China’s coal has maintained the first place in primary energy consumption. Although the proportion has been declining with the years, but the absolute amount of its consumption is rising. At the same time it can be inferred within the next longer renewable energy, nuclear and other energy can not replace the dominant position of coal. The resulting problems are more serious, one of the focal issues mentioned thermal efficiency in a safe premise.With the development of the power industry, the modern thermal power generating units can respond quickly start and stop the load required to meet the goal of power peaking. Because of the frequent peaking, thermal equipment, like steam turbine, will be in high-pressure and high-temperature operating conditions. Especially in the variable conditions, security and economic problems break out.So, in this paper, start-up condition, turbine shutdown condition and AGC condition of a600MW turbine will be researched by Ansys software. The point of maximum stress of the turbine will be analyzed. Life situation of the turbine will be calculated. Energy of the plant can be saved according to the analysis and calculated results.
