Turbo-generator unit fault diagnosis system is the core part of equipment condition-based maintenance decision support system, the state evaluation information on fault diagnosis plays an important role in guiding the equipment operation and maintenance job. In recent years, with the large of the unit and complex of the grid structure, the vibration faults of turbo-generator units often occurre which will threaten safe and economic operation of units. The vibration fault diagnosis system is researched and designed in this paper to evaluate the operation state of units timely, accurately. The main research content of this paper is as follows:(1) FMEA and FTA analysis of thermal bow、contact rubbing fault、cracked rotor and steam flow excited vibration were analyzied, and the FMEA table were given. It is an important part of establishing knowledge base to simulate expert thinking to diagnosis.(2) A general framework for the fault diagnosis systerm was conducted. The technology of data acquistion and processing is studied. a network data transmission method is set up based on UDP and FTP protocols, which solved the reliable transmission of large amounts of vibration relevant data efficiently. Using a representation based on two parameters uncertainty rules, a fault diagnostic reasoning was presented, which has laid a theoretical foundation for the development of fault diagnosis expert system.(3) The development of vibration fault diagnosis system was done by using Delphi7and SQL Server2000. This system mainly include knowledge base management module, fault diagnostic reasoning module and the fault diagnosis result management module. In this paper, the components and functions of each module will be described.
