Automatic Generation Control (AGC) is an important means of power generation dispatching control. With the development of large power grids, AGC grid dispatching play an increasing role. However, about the original AGC control strategy, there are some existing problems, such as single control objectives, single control standard, hydroelectric generating vibrations, AGC control unit lagging behind other issues and so on. Intelligent dispatching power control fully consider the demand for the development of smart grid, while absorbing and drawing lessons from the characteristics of the traditional AGC technology. This paper on the basis of the classical algorithm of constant innovation, introduced the regional multi-objective control concept and technology, improve the dynamic performance of the regulating and controlling effect more effectively. Mainly studied from the following aspects: First of all, by means of studying the rich unit control mode and the group control strategy, find ways to meet different characteristics between coordinate control requirements; second, do more research to find AGC control strategy which can adapt to different kinds of tie-line power control standard, to achieve online strategy switching flexibly between different AGC control standards; third, study hydropower units vibration control strategies across the area and hydrothermal online coordinated control strategy, to find the optimal allocation of resources under different types of units; fourth, coordinate AGC control strategy with real-time day rolling plan basing on ultra-short-term load forecasting AGC control strategy; finally, form a closed loop control between, the AGC security and stability control strategy based on sensitivity analysis, and security constrained dispatch, in order to achieve AGC automatic safety control.Through the above analysis, combined with the practical application of control strategy in Shanxi power grid dispatching operation, show the effective and superior of many regional multi-objective control strategy.
