Shanxi power grid is dominated by thermal power, supplemented with hydro, wind and solar power. By the end of2013, wind power has accounted for about8%of the province’s installed capacity, so it is very urgent to construct Shanxi wind power prediction and monitoring system. This paper studies the methods of wind power prediction, which focuses on the factors and parameter selection affecting power output of wind farms. This system realized adaptive wind data pattern recognition and wind power prediction using advanced artificial intelligence algorithms, completeing the acquisition of basic data through high-precision numerical weather forecasts, real-time wind resource monitoring module, and processing mass basis data relying on advanced dual-mode architecture for precise modeling of each wind farm, signal processing method based on virtual wind measuring tower, data mining. This paper designed hardware and software system, interfaces, data output. Shanxi wind power prediction commissioning and monitoring systems and applications.
