Double-layer SMA pavement system applied more in steel deck pavement, it possesses lots of advantages, such as strong high temperature rutting resistance, easy construction control, low construction cost etc. However, Double-layer SMA pavement system causes many diseases during engineering practices, including interlayer delaminating, slippage, longitudinal crack, pit slots etc. During these damages, primarily with waterproof bonding system problems, interlayer delaminating and slippage are the deadly diseases. Eliminator is a meth acrylic resin waterproof adhesive material, compares with high viscosity modified asphalt and epoxy resin that used in the past, Eliminator owns excellent waterproof property, strong steel adhesion, and anti-high temperature resistance ability. It is widely used in steel deck pavement, especially pouring pavement system. However, within the Double-layer SMA steel deck pavement, binding materials connected Eliminator and SMA generated slippage, delaminating and other diseases due to insufficient shear strength.To effectively address the pavement disease due to insufficient shear strength of the binding material between Eliminator and SMA. This article mainly research two kinds of binding materials, hot melting and reactivity materials. And deeply study in their formulation adjustment and optimization, binding material characteristic test, and composite specimen performance evaluation. Take advantage of shear test and pullout test, to test the shear strength and pullout strength of binding material in pavement system and take reference of shear strength and pullout strength value between pavement layer and Eliminator in pouring pavement system, to make comprehensive evaluation to materials satisfied with mechanical strength. Through these methods, develop high performance binding material which satisfied with engineering usage requirement eventually.Research result shows, in the hot melt adhesive material, rock asphalt and mineral powder hyper viscous asphalt can satisfy basic mechanical strength and construction peace ability requirement. When optimize this material with sasobit and coumarone resin, both of them can improve construction peace ability, and sasobit can increase high temperature shear strength of the material, but coumarone resin will decrease. In reactive material, Japanese epoxy adhesive, high temperature curing epoxy adhesive (denoted as GW binder) and two-stage curing epoxy adhesive (denoted as ED binder), under the best of ratio and dosage of the three materials, the mechanical strength is high, especially for the GW binder and ED binder. In the last, doing low temperature flexibility, high temperature stability, acid and alkali resistance, water stability test to test binding materials which satisfied with mechanical strength. After comprehensive comparative analysis, recommend selecting ED binder to be binding material between Eliminator waterproof layer and modified asphalt SMA pavement layer.
