Bellows-type culvert is formed by the connection and assembly of corrugated pipe orcorrugated plate. Heterogeneous foundation sedimentation always leads to the destroy of theculvert, the use of flexible and hith-intensitive steel bellows-type culvert can solve thisproblem because it fits the foundation and basic transshape.Moreover, steel bellows-typeculvert has the excellent characteristics of stress with axial bello, axial and radial distributesimultaneously the loads for stress and strain, so it can decentralize load effect to the biggestextent and best give play to the advantages of steel structure. However, the steel corrugatedpipe culvert in the high fill embankment of special is the stress deformation characteristics ofwhat is missing.This paper gathers material about the feature of high fill embankment culvert structure inmountainous area at home and abroad. On the basis of the large number of field survey andtest and due to the combine with the large scale in situ test, through finite element simulationcalculate, this paper deeply researches the load character, the structure stress character andtransshape character in the application of high fill embankment culvert in mountainous area,and achieved the following progress.1. This paper explores the load character of steel bellows-type culvert. Firstly, selectingthe bellows-type culvert’s representative cross section and inbuilding the earth pressure gageinto it, then analyses its earth pressure distribution in different fill height and concludes theload regulation of steel bellows-type culvert.2. This paper studies the load character and transshape character of steel bellows-typeculvert. On the basis of collecting research results about steel bellows-type culvert at homeand abroad, selecting representive cross section and doing the field test, analyzing theload-carrying capability and transshape character of steel bellows-type culvert under differentfill height, finally put forward the load-carrying feature and transshape regulation of the steelbellows-type culvert.3. This paper makes use of finite element analysis software to do the further study onload character, structure stress character and transshape character of the steel bellows-typeculvert.
