In recent years,with the improvement of people’s living standard and the increaseof car ownership,it also increased the number of traffic accident,which brought seriousharm to people’s life and property safety.In all kinds of traffic accident,the car sideimpact is the second largest factors resulted in the deaths of members after frontal crash.In the process of automobile side impact,because the car position relative to otherweaker lateral stiffness and the lack of effective absorb collision energy device, bufferspace is little,which cause a lot of damage to the paseengers.So it has become animportant subject for automotive safety in modern automobile industry research.In this paper,we study the domestic and international automobile collision passivesafety research,which include methods,research situation,evaluation standard,relatedlaws and regulations.On the basis of that I established the simplified finite elementsimulation model of car door side impact.By using lateral rigidity for car door columnin crash simulation analysis,I get the plate inside the door,car door panel and dooranti-collision beam deformation,maximum speed and acceleration,the structure of theequivalent parameters such as strain and stress, and evaluate the door of the collisionperformance.On the basis of the door from the material and structure, I studied for thelight weighting of door.For car anti-collision beams structure improvement,at the sametime, I adopt aluminum alloy replaced the door of the inner and outer plate of ordinarysteel plate.By changing the thickness of the inside and outside the door plate,I getdifferent door light weighting scheme,and compare the simulation result of the collisionwon on the premise of meet the requirements of the door collision safety of bestpractices,so as to realize the door light.It founded that the invasion of auto threshold distance is big by using a simplifiedmodel for crash simulation of car,which can’t guarantee well when the car in the eventof a side collision and normal open the door.So I increase a threshold,and the thresholdstiffening beam structure optimization,which also found that it can make invasionsthreshold at a reasonable speed and amount by joining the threshold stiffening beam. Itimproved the safety of side impact performance,which can effectively protect the lifesafety of the crew. Finally based on the simplified vehicle model for crash simulationanalysis,it is concluded that the doors after lightweight and join the threshold stiffeningbeam which can make auto safety performance is higher than the original car.In thispaper,the research content,method and conclusion as well as the effective measures to improve vehicle side impact for automotive passive safety research and developmenthas a certain reference and reference value.
