Regulation width is an important parameter in engineering design of shoalregulation, which determines the cross-sectional shape of remediation segment, directlyaffects the quality and engineering of the project. Hub constructed intercepts a largenumber of upstream sediment, combined with the regulation of the runoff process,changing the water and sediment of downstream rivers, destroying the balance,triggering its recycling process for hub functionality to play with the downstream riverto a certain extent. Also, given the effects of low sand containing water in the long-term,the riverbed will occur in varying degrees of erosion cut or riparian broadening andriver patterns. Moreover, it will affect the river flow conditions, navigation, floodcontrol, water and ecological. On the basis of the law of river water and sedimenttransport and depth understanding the characteristics of the evolution of bed, furtherimprovement applies to a different hub shoals dam, waterway regulation width formuladifferent erosion laws, planning and management of the direction towards a virtuouscircle development of excellent fairway.(1)After a brief analysis of the hub operation, the relationship between sedimentand riverbed evolution of design changes and channel regulation, recalling researchstatus of the regulation width of the channel method, sediment transport capacity,channel resistance laws, sediment transport and sediment mathematical model,reflecting the determination of regulation width is the key to solving water and sedimentconditions change hub where shallow river dam remediation segment.(2)Having taken into account the impact of water and sediment particle size inthe sand and mud, the introduction of the median particle size, combined with riverwidth equal shares, with an average water depth, average velocity and the riverbedgradient method and other factors have been identified dam line width of the riverchannel regulation and the use of field data of many rivers at home and abroad todetermine the parameters of the regulation width formulas, its accuracy is higher thanthe flow-slope formula and hydraulics formula.(3)In this paper, according to the project.of Baishiyao dam reach waterwayengineering, using regulation width formula to determine the parameters of the studyreach of regulation. And developed a remediation program, established two-dimensionalmathematical model of water and sediment in the hub dam river. Comparative analysis ofthe stability of the projec before and after the course. The results shows that the river water level drop significantly during the dry season, the flow rate increased slightly, helps toreduce siltation and maintain a stable pocket.(4)Variation of sediment erosion and deposition has been studied through usingthe water and sediment data of three years on less water, middle water and flood water.The results show that the capacity of the river sediment transport in general is limited.The erosion of river for dam to Guanyinyan is more serious. The flow rate slowed, thecapacity of sediment transport diminished in following river of Guanyinyan. Finally, bycomparing the mathematical and physical model test results, the results show that heamount of each deposition shallows, shoal length and width of the smallest aircraft less,further illustrate the feasibility of the regulation width improved method can provide areference for the project.
