Gas regulator is the core component in urban gas transmission anddistribution system. Its effect is to adjust the high pressure gas to reach the requiredpressure for the sake of the supply to its users. The supply instability from the gaspressure regulator will cause accidents like incomplete combustion, poisoning, fire.So there is a need to inspect its performance to ensure its safety and stability. Atpresent, the domestic performance detection of gas pressure regulator mainly takesform in air tightness, which has a low automation degree of detection device and thedetection result easily affected by humans. Therefore, the design and development ofa device for detecting the performance of gas pressure regulator becomes particularlyimportant. The main contents of this paper are:(1) Firstly, this paper discusses the working principle and classification of gaspressure regulator, and analyzes the detection scheme and the detection principle ofpressure regulator in accordance with the national standard "urban gas pressureregulator"(CJ274-2008) and "urban gas cut-off valve and discharge valve"(CJ/T335-2010), whose detection contents include statistic state character test, closingpressure test, discharge test and cut off adjustment test.(2) According to the national standards, industry standards together withenterprise technical requirements, the design requirements and performance index ofdetection device for gas pressure regulator are formulated. And the whole machinedesign scheme is also provided, which includes three parts of gas path system,hardware system and testing software. The hardware system includes externalmodule as control and display module, pressure control and acquisition module, flowcontrol and acquisition module, and barcode reader, PC machines and printers.Testing software includes three parts of PLC software design, human-computerinteraction interface design and PC software design.(3) This paper adopts the flow control system of “Motor+Ball Valve” to realizethe automatic adjustment control of flow. Aiming at the nonlinearity and time-variance of flow adjustment, combine the traditional PID control algorithm andfuzzy control algorithm, propose fuzzy PID control algorithm, make the flow controlsatisfy the dynamic performance, and at the same time possess the relatively highcontrol accuracy. Through a lot of experiments and analysis, a conclusion isreached that upon the fuzzy PID control algorithm, flow control deviation is within±0.6Nm3/h, and the control accuracy can meet design requirements.(4) Consulting the detection industry’s standards, the detection device of gaspressure regulator’s performance is evaluated by importing the machine capabilityindexes. The machine capability indexes Cm, Cmkof this device are more than orequal to1.67which meet the design requirements.
