The traditional Load-bearing wall buildings has the following characteristics:thewall around the eaves directly support the roof trusses, gable directly supportingpurlins, four walls are load-bearing, while the floor and the roof is composed ofwooden members. as one of the main structure of traditional houses, The traditionalLoad-bearing wall buildings were occupied a higher proportion of the existingtraditional brick houses. In Henan regions, traditional load-bearing wall brick househas the following advantages: it is easy to obtain raw material locally, the simpleconstruction technology and low cost, so its stock is quite rich, which continue to beused for the general public.However the existing buildings, which were builded long ago, were repairedimproperly, and houses is without considering the earthquake or other disaster factorswhich is restricted by technical conditions, and there are serious security hiddendanger. Many earthquake disaster’s results showed that the traditional Load-bearingwall buildings seismic performance is poorer. In a certain degree, these buildingwhich were sick are likely to result in more serious hazards under the seismic action.In recent years, it has carried out many studies about the industry structure of urbanhousing security and seismic performance, but the research is little about thetraditional Load-bearing wall buildings. Therefore, carrying out the traditional wallbearing brick housing structure and seismic performance research has a positivepractical significance.In the subject of the national "twelfth five-year" science and technology supportprogram (project number:2013BAL01B04) support, the following several aspects ofresearch work has mainly been done in this article:(1) Through on-the-spot investigation, we obtain the traditional Load-bearingwall building plane, elevation and main component detail size, also sum up thetraditional used of the building materials and the main component connectiontechnology. All of these provide support for the selection of related parameters in the model and the connection between the simulation components which have been usedin numerical simulation analysis. System elaborated main part for housingconstruction practice, the brief analysis of the building structure features, for thefurther structure performance analysis and put forward the improvement structurescheme laid a foundation.(2) The weight of traditional Load-bearing wall buildings is bigger, which is themain control function under considering the effect of floor and roof live load. In thispaper, the stress and deformation has been obtained though the analysis under theaction of gravity. From the overall structure, the top of the vertical and horizontal walljunction, the middle area of top vertical wall and the wall under the beam whichproduct large stress level, are the weak part of structures. In order to enhance thestructure performance, the necessary construction measures should be taken whensuch housing have the construction, maintenance or reinforcing.(3) Through the modal analysis, we get the low-order modes of structure and itscorresponding cycle. Though comparing the basic cycle and experience formula basiccycle, the rationality of the numerical model is validated. According to each ordermodal changing law, further discusses have been taken for the inherent dynamiccharacteristics of structure. The relevant modal analysis results provide data supportfor the further seismic response analysis.(4) Through stress deformation analysis under the vertical and horizontalearthquake, this paper discusses the stress and the deformation law of the structure,find out the weak parts of the structure and deeply analyze the causes. The relatedanalysis results provide the reference for structure and seismic performanceevaluation and follow-up research.(5) Through the study of the structure and seismic response analysis oftraditional Load-bearing wall buildings, and combined with the deformation law andthe weak parts of the structure, this paper put forward a series of improvement measuresfor the structure and seismic performance. The related analysis results can providereference for the maintenance and reinforcement of the structure and transformation.
