China is short of water resources. The freshwater resources per capitaIt is very little and the water resources distribution is also extremely uneven. South-to-North Water Transfer Project is a strategic infrastructure projects for the optimal allocation of water resources in China and solving the problem of water shortage in the northern region. East Line of South-to-North Water Transfer Project is an important part of the basic framework "Four Vertical lines and Three horizontals", and its pumping stations are characterized by low lift, high traffic, long running, some of which have the task of drainage, so it requires pumping stations operating with flexibility and high efficiency. However, pumping station running cost is enormous, and its energy consumption accounts for a large share of the entire water diversion cost. Therefore, they have become problems to be resolved that study of optimal operation of pumping stations, improving pumping station operating efficiency, lower energy consumption and so on.It has a significant energy saving effect to study the optimal operation of Jinhu pumping station which is the second cascade pumping station of Eastern Line Project, and also has greater importance in improving the level of management and construction of pumping stations, saving the pumping stations running cost, and increasing utilization of finite energy. Therefore, it has a good application prospect, and would bring certain socio-economic and ecological benefits.According to the characteristics of Jinhu pumping station, this paper mainly studies the following aspects:(1) Taking the single pump unit of Jinhu pumping station as the research object, considering peak-valley electricity price, with the minimum pump unit operation cost (simply refers to power costs) as target function, total water lifting within a certain period of time, the unit power and the frequency of startup and shutdown of the pumping stations as constraint, the optimization operation model for single pump unit of Jinhu pumping station with adjustable-blade is established. Adopting the1-D dynamic programming method to solve, the optimal results obtained are compared and analyzed with that in rated operation, and the optimization effect is good. (2) Taking the mutiple pump units of Jinhu pumping station as the research object, considering peak-valley electricity price, with the minimum pump units operation cost (simply refers to power costs) as target function, total water lifting within a certain period of time, the unit power and the frequency of startup and shutdown of the pumping stations as constraint, the optimization operation model for the mutiple pump units of Jinhu pumping station with adjustable-blade is established. Adopting two methods that experimental optimization method dynamic programming with successive approximation method to solve, the optimal results obtained from the two methods are compared and analyzed with that in rated operation respectively, at the same time, between themselves, which can provide references for the optimal operation of large-scale pumping station in our country.(3) Taking the Intel Visual Fortran compiler as a developing platform, the inquiry system software of optimal operation schemes for Jinhu pumping station is developed. The inquiry system can provide convenience for administrator to quickly make decision that optimal operation scheme when head changes, and improve work efficiency and conserve resources.
