In several decades, with the rapid development of fiber-optical electronic information and communication technology, the importance and indispensability of substation integrated automation system has been more and more obvious in electronic system. IEC has released the IEC61850new standard, and this makes it not necessary for the data transformation between different manufactures’automatic equipments, and also makes them to share the resource. They won’t be restricted by the rules, and intercommunication makes the automatic equipments inter-manipulation. There is no need to invest or construct the transformation equipments. Simplified design and greatly increased work efficiency of automatic equipments have more operation expands. Many problems which have persecuted the examining and repairing workers have been solved. The workload of the examining and repairing workers has been reduced. Digital collection, transformation and disposition of information in electronic system become the new innovation orientation of intelligent substation. The digital substations which have full-time and on-line examining, analyzing, determining and repairing capacity are the future tendency of electronic system development.This paper is researching the basic technological theory and concept of digital substation, presenting the experiment method of Liu Shuquan digital substation, comparing the technology advantages and disadvantages between common substations and digital substation, and analyzing the researching level of different substations at home and abroad. Via the new standard of IEC61850, seamless communication resolve program, study of communication standard frame, and electric transformer in digital substation, deeply investigate and research the application and technological features of digital circuit breaker of high voltage equipment. Taking Liu Shuquan the220kv digital substation for instance, this paper presents the designing program, communication frame, and adjusting implement project, and analyzes the technology. The technological reform of digital substation has dramatically enhanced the construction, operation and management of automatic and relay protection system in Liu Shuquan the220kv digital substation, and innovated substation development.
