With the improvement of science and technology, especially the development ofcomputer and communication technology, automation and informatization are theinevitable trend for all fields, and substation technology is surely among them. Thanksto country’s investment to electricity grid in those years, a automation technologybased on IEC61850Standard, the only standard based on general network communicationplatform in substation automation system, is widely adopted in substations and substationsare becoming more digitalized, automated and standardized. The digital substation cutsdown the cost of construction and maintenance, and makes the distribution transmissionand dispatching of electricity more reliable. Therefore, it’s meaningful to develop the testing devices,especially the portable device based on digital substation communication standard.The issue in this paper is part of developing Fiber-optic power digital signalanalyzer based embedded technology. According to digital messages in Ethernet, like9-1GOOSE9-2FT3, The analyzer can monitor substation system and be helpful totechnicians in the process of construction and maintenance.The state and prospect of intelligent substation and power digital signal analyzerare firstly given In this paper, and the application of both IEC61850standard andembedded system are simply introduced.Secondly, IEC GOOSE protocol adopted in the project is deeply analyzed, and theapplication of GOOSE in substations and parameters in messages are given in details.Some theory-matured electrical testing technologies are used for reference in thispaper, and the design of one kind of software analyzing GOOSE messages in embeddedenvironment is the key point. The frame of software designing and the realization planof modules are both given. In the last, some functions are tested in experimentalenvironment.
