Electric power system plays an irreplaceable role in various fields of national economy and the people’s livelihood. One of the majoy works of electric power system dispatch is the safe and stable operation of electric power system and fast recovery after the accident. With the rapid development of Taiyuan regional power grid, network structure is becoming more complex, the load level is increasing, the complexity of the system put forward higher requirements for power grid dispatching work. At present, Taiyuan area power grid dispatching work mainly depends on the SCADA system and EMS system, can not give early warning operation of the grid, cannot the point out the weak links exist in the network dispatcher, is also unable to give the adjustment of the strategy, at the same time, when the accident occurred, the dispatcher is submerged in the vast amounts of information, influence the response speed of the accident. Therefore, to establish a security and stability of power grid analysis and early warning system, with the monitoring function, and can realize the real-time, automatically find the security troubles hidden in the system, and gives the elimination of hidden control measures, can effectively protect the safe operation of regional power network, to meet the needs of Taiyuan regional power grid development and intelligence power grid construction.This paper mainly discuss the the structure and function of early warning system and the implementation of early warning system based on the situation of taiyuan province, at the foundation of SCADA/EMS system, we use the visible ways to present the control date in more intuitionistic ways. The integration function, promote the transformation of regional power network dispatching by experience to calculation, improve fine scheduling level.
