With the fast development of power grid and the advent of smart technology, theamount of operating data of power system increases rapidly in recent years.Meanwhile, the contingency becomes more undetectably than ever before. Theexisting methods of real-time monitoring and early-warning of power system areunable to meet the fast development of power grid. The new technology ofvisualization which develops fast in recent years can convert the data to the graphicsor images shown on the screen by using computer graphics technology. As a result, ithas great theoretical significance and application value for the online supervisory,analysis and security early warning of power grid. The principles and concepts of thevisualization technology and the application for the power grid operating are studiedin this paper.Then introduced the main components and features of power system analysissoftware package. Dynamic Security Assessment&Early Warning System of PowerSystem. The system provides a complete toolset of on-line dynamic securityassessment for large-scale power system, based on parallel simulation platform. Thebase data of the system is combined data from different energy management systems(EMSs), phasor measurement units (PMUs) and off-line calculations. By integratingalgorithms from the PSASP calculation, the system can perform on-line assessmentsof transient stability, small signal stability and voltage stability, to promote dynamicsecurity of power system. To meet the requirement of changing off-line power gridsecurity and stability analysis into on-line analysis, after the comprehensive researchof on-line assessment of such sub-problems as static state security, voltage securityand transient security as well as examination of protective relaying settings, a set ofcomplete security assessment&early warning system of power system is established.Finally, the design and programming for the online monitor and early-warningsystem of power grid are given in this dissertation. The system has been applied inTianjin power grid to prove its feasibility.
