This paper introduces the present overseas and domestic Research Status about solar collector, and summarizes the characteristics of flat plate solar collector (FPSC).On the basis of the basic working principle of pulsating heat pipe (PHP), the PHP is applied to flat plate solar collector. It was viewed to make up the short board of FPSC. Most of the time, the material of heat pipes is copper or aluminum, the corrosion resistance and the resistance to stress are too poor to solar collector. We choose stainless steel as heat pipes’material and make a stainless steel-water pulsating heat pipes. After the thermal performance testing of stainless steel-water pulsating heat pipes, we get some results and disciplines. All this results and disciplines are great useful to pulsating heat pipes solar collector. I have completed the design, processing, production and assembly work about the flat plate pulsating heat pipes solar collector (PHP-FPSC), and build thermal performance test platform for collector and water heater.After many days’tests, we obtain the thermal performance equation of PHP-FPSC and compared the thermal properties with other similar products. We studied the startup process of PHP-FPSC and accessed the time constant. Based on the solar collector, we established the remote-storage solar water heater. After many days’ tests about solar water heater, we acquired the key results about heating system performance equation, input-output figure and daily average efficiency.
