ABSTRACT:As a new kind of structure, membrane structure appears only half century, has its own unique characteristic compares to the traditional structures like masonry, concrete, steel etc..This paper is a system behavior to discuss design method collection on membrane structures base on their physics environment characteristics like thermal, optics, acoustics etc.. It creates membrane structures categorization model and graph structural system by importing ’typology’ theoretical system, classifies systematically for the type of membrane structure buildings, does an one by one analysis for all kinds of the membrane structure buildings’ physics environment and concludes a complete design method set from the aspects like composing principle, form characteristics, performance characteristics, construction technology, application fields.The1st chapter introduces this paper’s research background and topic’s selection reason. It sketches the domestic and international related theories research and development, analyzes the research significance from3levels, clarifies the general framework and research method of this paper base on it.The2nd chapter combs the cause and development history of membrane structure. Membrane structure is the result of various factorsas the development of structure technology, material and architectural theory, social transformation, physical environment requirements etc.The3rd chapter analyzes membrane structure’s material, support system, space requirements etc. Emphasis is on the various features of membrane structure on the impact of building physical environment.The4th chapter as the core of this paper concludes the detail design method on three aspects of thermal, acoustics, optics environments by analyzing the physics environment characteristics of membrane structure building.The5th chapterintroduces architectural typology related theories into this study, creates membrane structure building classification models and graph system, classified discusses various membrane structure buildings’ physics environment design methods.The6th chapter as the summary of this paper concludes the impaction of the membrane structures building physics environment on architectural design.
