VRLA (Valve Regulated Lead Acid) system often suffers an internal deterioration problem due to improper use. With the increasing importance of VRLA, how we monitor the degree of deterioration and how we repair the battery become one of the most popular questions around the world. A practical design of BM&RS (Battery Monitoring and Repairing System) surely makes sense on cost and energy savings.We can divide BM&RS researches into two parts:1. One part is techniques of battery monitoring on deterioration, such as deeply discharging method, voltage inspection method, attaching with Kalman Filter and resistance measurement method.2. The other part is techniques of battery repairing, such as hydrotherapy, strong currents method and pulse oscillation method.After a theoretical study and simulation analysis, there are some problems on these methods that shown above, such as damage to batteries, low accuracy and high costs. So this paper selects resistance measurement method as the cure technique of battery monitoring and pulse oscillation method as cure technique of battery repairing.The internal resistance of battery is extremely small and it belongs to active element. So it is difficult to measure the resistance of battery in traditional ways. The error of traditional methods is nearly10%. Aiming at this problem, this paper designs a circuit which names AC impedance circuit based on AD630(PLL). After calculations and simulations, this circuit can decrease the error to5%. At last, the paper also verifies the accuracy of the circuit on field measurement.The traditional method of pulse oscillation has its own uncertainty on what kind of pulse methods should choose. Aiming at this problem, this paper works through lots of literatures and finds a new kind of pulse whose frequency is8KHz and amplitude is4.5V. After the simulation is done, this kind of pulse is used for field measurement, it verifies the excellence of this method.After the main circuits are completed, this paper designs a communication module and a power module. These two modules make it possible for results to display on host machine. At last, a software interface is programmed so that the host can control the overall system in an easy way.
