With the progress of the western waterway development, more and more passing hub into a range of high head. When working head of lock to a certain height, high head convert the kinetic energy will not only lead to deterioration of the valve working conditions, and will exacerbate gate indoor flow turbulence, and worsen ship berthing conditions, that directly not only affect the safe operation of the locks but also the smooth of the entire waterway. So make the right choices for the structure of the lock and the type of the filling and emptying system has important practical significance.In this paper, combined with a superhigh-head ship lock of the western mountains, through the theoretical than choose the type of the filling and emptying system suitable for high water head, based on the overall hydraulic model test and FORTRAN program to analyze the rationality and reliability optimization, get the following conclusion:1. Water-saving shiplock is slightly higher requirement to the plane layout, and increased the investment, but it can not only reduce the valve working head, and each time can save water, technical and economic performance are better than ordinary single-stage program.2.The chamber is designed to take the middle two shunt energy dissipation chamber, bottom of the gate take the bottom long corridor, double open furrow dissipater type arrangement is reasonable, the model measured water hydraulic eigenvalues and digital-analog calculation results are more consistent, to achieve the desired objective.3.The hydraulic characteristics curve of the optimal solution for physical model based on the valve opening and closing of the optimal solution is coincide to the mathematical model’s,which proved the reliability of the optimal scheme and confirmed the accuracy of the mathematical model of the datas.4.The results and the process of simulation test indicate the two main technical indexes of the idea is realistic and can be achieved.
