Owing to the complex mountainous terrain conditions, which have many long-sharp downhill, bridges and tunnels, vehicle easily appears brake failure, lateral spreads, side tumbling causing to serious traffic accident. Therefore, mountain road safety is one of the key problems that need solutions. In the past, researchers mainly researched on vehicles and road respectively. Through the investigation we had found the mutual influence on the traffic safety, and accidents will happen when the vehicle-road coupling is non-conforming, so it is really important to solve the problem which driving on the mountainous road.In order to solve the problem, this article based on the coupling thoughts,key research the dynamics relationship between vehicles and roads when the traveling on mountainous road with long downhill and curves. This paper discusses the influence of turning characteristics of different slope and bend radius of vehicle braking, in order to analyze driving safety when vehicle on a mountain road , it is proposed to build a new safety model. Based on mountain road accidents investigation analysis and the tyres ground mechanical model analysing the stress characteristics of vehicle driving on mountainous long downhill, curve ramp and tunnels, it determines the safety status of vehicle driving Through the discussion of two different methods ,it analyzes the mountainous area traffic safety, one kind is a mountain road traffic safety fuzzy comprehensive evaluation and another is autombile driving safety model established by is according the vehicle parameters and road parameters.The creation of the model of safety degree based on the vehicle-road coupling has certain innovation. It can not only provides theoretical reference for mountain road design, but also provides theoretical support for the development of the safety pre-warning of driving on mountainous road. Besides, it has certain practical significance for guaranteeing the safety of vehicles driving on mountain road.
