In recent years, with the improvement of people’s living standards, the car almost intothe household.However,people are having an increasingly requirements for automotive safetysystems. the popularity of automotive collision avoidance system in the car is the maindirection of the current development of the automotive industry.Automotive collisionavoidance radar can help the driver judge the distance and speed of obstacles ahead in fogand other inclement weather conditions. The system can automaticly control the speed of thecar after judged from information of obstacles.In this way it can avoid collision and obstaclesin an emergency.For it has the advantage of short wave length,wide bandwidth and the large Dopplershift,Millimeter-wave is used as the preferred band of vehicle collision avoidance system,LFMCW as its working system.First of all,the principle of millimeter-wave automotiveanti-collision system was researched.Secondly,with LF2407DSP chip as its core, build ahardware platform, and made a detailed description for each of the hardware module.Again,the target signal detection section uses a fixed threshold detection method, and using Neyman-Pearson criterion to determine the threshold so that the probability of detection and falsealarm probability can reach a balance in performance.Analysis the characteristics of the method of improving processing gain of radar basedon FFT-DWT and based on ZP-FFT through experiments.The result show that the method ofimproving processing gain of radar based on ZP-FFT has advantage in dealing with the signaland has a more simple computing. Also,it has better results in radar signal processing.Factors that impact the safe driving such as the relative speed and relative distance arenon-linear and vague. fuzzy control method developed in recent years does not depend onaccurate mathematical model.It can use fuzzy membership function to describe controlmodel of vehicle safe driving.It is proved a good solution.Finally,described the software of the system in detail, and gives some important modulesof the source program.
