| With the rapid development of economy in our country and speed increase of railways in large areas, heavy haul railway transportation has become the developmental direction of railway freight transportation in China. With the increasing of driving speed and axle load, rail wear of curve sections on heavy haul railway became increasingly serious, and affected directly the normal operation of the wagon. Especially in the small radius curve location, rail wear had become the main disease of curve rail and the main factor of rail replacement. So the analysis of rail wear problem on small radius curves of heavy haul railway was of great importance.This paper built the SIMPACK train-track model, and simulated influence of different dynamic characteristics on rail wear when the train passed by, such as superelevation of outer rail, gauges, curve radius, base slopes of rails, and axle loads. The results showed that conditions of the track and states of the operation had a direct effect on rail wear when the train passed by.(1) Reasonable superelevation of the outer rail and base slope of the rail were good to ease the curve rail wear;(2) When the curve radius and the easement curve lengths were small, the wheel-rail interactions were greater and the rails were relatively easier to be bad. So the curve radius and the easement curve length should not be too small when designed;(3) Appropriate gauge widening were good for reducing the wheel and rail interactions, and rail wear of the curve would decrease as well;(4) When the axle loads and speeds were high, the wheel and rail interactions would be great, and the rail wear was serious too;(5) Small wheel and rail friction coefficients could reduce the interaction between rail and wheel. So the paper recommended measures of oiling to reduce rail wear on small radius curves of heavy haul railway. |
