In recent years, air pollution has become one of the most concernedenvironmental issues. Coal-fired power plants, as the subject of thermal powergeneration, would discharge large amounts of nitrogen oxides in the process ofoperation,which is one of the major pollution sources. Therefore, actions must bedone to control the discharge of nitrogen oxides by coal-fired power plants as quicklyas we can. As a core tool for dealing with the emission of nitrogen oxides (NOx) ofthermal power plants, flue gas denitration becomes a key process which thermalpower industry requires in-depth exploration subsequently. This paper mainlyintroduces Cangdong Power Company on the4th boiler denitration renovation projectand gives a comprehensive evaluation from three aspects, including the technology ofthe project, the environmental benefits, and the economic benefits.Firstly, this paper describes the background, the significance and the researchstatus at home and abroad of the article. Secondly, this paper introduces the theory ofthe denitration renovation project evaluation, and describes the mechanism ofcoal-fired boilers to generate NOx, three denitration technologies as well as theirprinciples for selection. At the same time, this article describes the comprehensiveevaluation methods used, including AHP and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. Thenon this basis, this paper introduces the Cangdong Power Company on the4th boilerdenitration renovation project building programs, including the denitration methodsused in this project, the electrical part,the control system part,the civil work part, andthe ash handling part, and their rationality of technique has been analyzed. With thecombination of technical solutions, this article evaluates the environmental benefits,and the economic benefits as well. Thus, this paper establishes evaluation indexsystem, and then applies the AHP to determine each index weight and conducts acomprehensive evaluation of the project by using fuzzy comprehensive evaluationmethod. The evaluation results indicates that evaluation grade of the project isexcellent and the whole efficiency of the project is good, which provides a referencefor the project.
