CBTC (Communication Based Train Control System) is an emerging train controlsystem of urban rail transit in the current, which is also widely applied in the field of railtransport in china because of the strongly Invested for urban rail transit area in recent years,Independent research and development in domestic on CBTC system has also entered intofruitful period.Train Headway is one of the most important concept in urban rail transit operation whichrefers to the time interval between the front and tracking train when they consecutivelyrunning through the same point, it is also a standard of the Train transport capacity and trafficdensity, The train headway of main rail line can be divided into section headway and platformheadway, the section headway of the train under CBTC system is very short which can reach30s or less while platform headway is usually less100s, Therefore, The key factor to improvethe operation efficiency of the main line is curtailing platform headway, which is also thecurrent research hotspot.Energy Consumption is one of the problems that can not be neglected in train operationof urban rail transit, which is also closely related to the train operating conditions. Thesequence conversion among the operation conditions (include traction, coasting, braking) andduration time of the various conditions determine the amount of the energy consumption,Therefore, a reasonable choice of operation conditions can not only make rational utilizationof resources, but also can save energy, energy conservation has become an urgent requirementof urban rail transit operating in the current.The train headway and the problems of energy consumption based on the CBTC systemare mainly studied in this paper. Firstly, the train braking model was introduced, then with thediscussion and analysis of the train traction/braking systems and braking process. Based onthese analyses above, the train operating law and energy consumption issues are detailelaborated, then established traction/braking energy algorithm, the problems of train in theactual operation process was summarized and the corresponding energy optimization methodwas put forward.Second, the train headway was researched, what expounds include the mail line headwayalgorithm (the section headway/the platform headway) and the headway algorithm ofstation-front turning-back with double line, then deeply analyzed the factors which affectingthe train headway and a train pre-decelerating method is proposed for the optimization of trainheadway, which can also a theoretical foundation for future simulation verification.The simulation verification were proposed for theoretical method at the end of the paperwhich based on the data of Lanzhou Metro Line1, the paper choose VC++6.0as the simulation platform and the performances were analyzed and verified according callingdrawing software GNUPLOT in VC++6.0where Vehicle Operation process Simulation wereachieved, the corresponding performance analysis results were well showed and the proposedtheory and method were verified efficiently in the end.
