According to the actual needs of the electric multiple units (EMU) using and maintenance,an EMU running state monitoring system is designed. The healthy condition and running dataof the EMU and equipments are transmitted to the ground in time in the system, by which theoperation, maintainance and management personnel can track and monitor the EMU’s entrirerunnning state, detect and diagnoise the potential maintenance problems, deal with theenmergence efficiently, and make the maintain plane ahead of time. So that the maintenanceefficiency and quality are greatly improved, and the safe and reliable operation of the EMU issecurity. At the same time, the future of the EMU status maintenance is provided technicalsupport for.First the three-level network frame of the remote monitoring system is introducted,including the locomotive on-board network, wireless data communication and groundmonitoring network. Then the wireless data communication part of the EDU running remotemonitoring system is focused on. The main contents include the hardware realization oflocomotive on-board device and related appliction software design of monitoring center. Theon-board device takes STM32processor as core to collect and trasmit data, which is finishedby integration of data acquisition, GPS receiver and GPRS wireless data emission equipment.By GPRS the data is transmitted to the monitoring center. Based on the MFC programming inthe Visual C++6.0, the related appliction software is degined to complete the real-time datareception, processing, display and storage at al, combined with the SQL Server2005databasemanagement system. The remote monitoing and management of the EMU is finished.The environment communication environment of the EMU in high-speed operation isdifferent from a common communication environment. In order to safeguard the reliability ofwireless communication, the reliable security mechanism of the high-speed wirelesscommunications environment is presented, including GPRS dropped reconnection, TCPcongestion control mechanisms and others. Finally, the experimential simulation platform isbuilt to test. The results show that the operation is normal, and the basic design requirementscan be fuifiled.
