With the enlargement of the scale of power system, the traditional telecommunication equipment used in distribution remote terminal stage can't meet the demand of distribution automation system. It has the following characteristics: Inspecting the status of power system and uploading data; Transmitting data by wired correspondences method, but it will be shattered easily; It has only one function. Inspecting of power system, compensate low voltage reactive lode and wireless transmission is singleness product.The paper introduces a kind of low power consumption and small size intelligent monitor terminal which is based on the GPRS.The supervision of operating mode of distribution transformer is carried out by its monitoring terminal, at the same time, it will compensate low voltage reactive lode. This paper mainly introduces and designs the electric power monitor terminal and GPRS wireless transmission module. They used for electric data management and transmission by the GPRS wireless channel, the compensation low voltage reactive lode and Low voltage carrier concentrated implement.This paper was divided into several main parts as follows:(1) According to the development situation, the power monitor system based on GPRS network was selected.(2) Researching the GPRS wireless communication principle, and analyzing the GPRS application of the power monitor system. It main includes the GPRS connection of wireless reading system, the security and real time problems of wireless data transmission and so on.(3) Detailed introduced hardware and software design project of two modules. The power system monitor and manage terminal based on DSP, to carry on collecting electric data and compensate low voltage reactive lode。 The GPRS wireless transmission module based on SIM100 GPRS MODEM, to transmit electric data. Two modules were connected with RS-485, according to the main station requests, and carry on the organization and transmission of the electric data.
