Abstract:With the continuous growth of China’s national economy, China’s railway construction is developing rapidly. Railway bureaus now are actively implementing reforms in transportation organization. As a basic plan in railway transportation organization, a locomotive crew scheduling plan will greatly affect the operation of trains, utilization of railway equipment and working efficiency of crews, which will have a great influence on economic benefits of railway transport enterprises.With locomotive routes become longer and locomotive crew scheduling become relatively independent, these changes bring some serious problems such as overtime working and unbalanced crew scheduling. Therefore, it is very important to study how to make a reasonable and effective crew scheduling plan, which can reduce the operation costs and improve the competitiveness of transportation enterprises.In this thesis, locomotive crew scheduling problem was analyzed. This problem was splited into three sub-problems, optimal routings construction problem, routing loop optimization problem and crew rostering problem. To use minimum number of locomotive crews to complete the given driving tasks, a mathematical model is built to optimize the result. This thesis designed a heuristic algorithm to work out this model, collect and process the basic datas in crew scheduling. Besides, passenger trains’data from Nanchang bureaus are taken as a numerical example to examine the proposed approach.Finally, a crew scheduling assistant system is designed and implemented by using Delphi software development platform. This system can help collecting and processing the train datas, managing crew information, calculating the optimal routings and automatically generate scheduling plan, which improve the efficiency of management.
