There is always the intitial defects and material ageing in the bridge structure,under the load and the outside word long-term effects,these initial defects in the structure and the natural aging og the structure will enable the structure on the continuous development of injury and the structurefunction degradation,which may lead to structure in a certain period of use will become a dangerous bridge and facing damage,the danger of collapse.Therefore,the disease appeared on the structure should be detected,repair and reinforcement.In China,insufficient research exists on the fine reinforcement design,special reinforcement in the theory and construction methods of the design calculations.The strengthening design of some bridge mechanically apply the new bridge design,ignoring the impact of the strengthened bridge in service in phases to the mechanical characteristics and strutural damage;indicidual bridges reinforcement designed with the macro-qualitative analysis,without scientifuc quantitative analysis,and with a large arbitrariness.This article first to summarize the disease of the simply supported girder bridge reinforcement method and significance, according to the analysis of the bridge reinforcement theory, discuss the mechanism of stress to paste the steel plate method and bridge deck overlay method. With finite element method, for simply supported girder bridge, study the two methods of the static characteristics of before and after reinforcement by pasting the steel reinforcement and bridge deck overlay. The finite element model is established by using finite element software Midas in this paper, compare and analyze the changes of deflection, strain, natural frequencies and vibration modes before and after reinforcement, and draw the relevant way of reinforcement on the bearing capacity of the bridge.By means of an old bridge in Harbin city, do the load test before and after bridge reinforcement in er dao river bridge, analyzing the paper involves strengthening methods on deflection and strain change, compare to the results of finite element model and the test data, analyze the changes of the bridge stiffness, strength and transverse distribution coefficient quantitatively.
