With the development of economy and the improvement of people’s livingstandards, the demand for electricity is growing. This situation puts forward a hugechallenge to local power grid. Faced with the constantly increasing power load, toreplace the related electrical equipment, improve the local power grid structure andset new substations turn into the main problems for the local power supply enterprises.As the primary task of these challenges, distribution network planning naturallybecome to be the focus of academic research.As the basic industry of national economy, electric power industry is also animportant public utility that related to both of the national economy and people’slivelihood. In order to meet the needs of the people, a power supply enterprise musttake certain measures on the expansion of production scale, which asking for a powersystem planning at the very first stage. To be noticed, a reasonable planning of powersystem can not only make the electric power enterprise to reap economic benefits, butalso has a significant influence on the normal operation of the whole power systemand the sustainable development of the electric power industry. Thus, making areasonable and efficient power grid planning is the first target of the power work staff.Through to the related literature reading, this article analyses the research statusof the distribution network planning at home and abroad, as well as the present statusof power distribution network planning internationally. At the same time, it alsosummarizes the related research on the risk management of power distributionnetwork planning and evaluation at home and abroad. Then, it points out thesignificance and purpose of the risk assessment of power distribution networkplanning and management. Introduction of the planning of the distribution networktheory and risk management and evaluation of relevant theory is also involved in thisresearch. The risk evaluation index system of power distribution network planningcombines the analytic hierarchy process and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method,and it constructs the fuzzy hierarchy comprehensive evaluation model. At the end ofthe research, the empirical study of risk evaluation for power distribution networkplanning is carried on with the example of Tangxian.
