With the rapid development of information technology, the Internet has provided peoplewith efficient communications platform, which greatly facilitates the exchange of information,the appearance of WSN has a huge impact on human life. WSN technology integrated sensortechnology, wireless communication technology, computer network technology and embeddedtechnology, it always be used for data acquisition, military field, real-time monitoring and otheroccasions. With the introduction of the smart grid, the application of WSN technology in thepower system is more and more widely.The transmission line on-line monitoring system is a typical example. We use WSNtechnology to monitor the running status information of transmission line, and send the faultinformation to the control center, we can make routine maintenance of transmission linecomfortably and make react to the fault location quickly. The wireless sensor nodes aredeployed on transmission line towers, forming a long-chain communication link, easy to appearnetwork congestion, forming a “network bottleneck” phenomenon.Taking into account the above mentioned problems, and with the high demand of real-timeand reliability of monitoring system of power transmission lines,an ant colony algorithm withpheromone diffusion is presented. By setting up the pheromone diffusion model,this algorithmimproves the collaboration among ants nearby,improving the global search capability.The simulation of the designed ant colony algorithm is made with the simulation platformMATLAB and OMNeT++. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm canobtain better performance,and meet the requirement of real-time and reliability in themonitoring system, guarantee the quality of service for data transmission in wireless sensornetwork.
