Safe, reliable, economical, and practical are advantages of the energy dissipation technology. Different from seismic technology of conventional structure, this is the goal of future study of seismic design. The article here takes viscoelastic damper of energy dissipation technology as the study target, discusses viscoelastic damper’s anti-seismic performance under different arrangements, and compares seismic dynamic effect in various layout forms. Better layout plan shall be obtained and structure anti-seismic performance shall be improved.Major study work are as followingTake an eight-floor office building of reinforced concrete frame structure as an engineering example. Use viscoelastic damper unit of boundary unit of Midas Gen finite element program as the damper to build computing analyzing model. The most suitable plan shall be found after the dynamic time history analysis and calculationBuilding pure frame structure, mid-span damper evenly-arranged structure, and two side span damper evenly-arranged structure are the three plans. Choose seismic waves of various types, conduct dynamic time history analysis and calculation, and compare different seismic responses of pure frame structure and two damper evenly-arranged plans. After comparison of the data obtained from calculation of the three plans, it is concluded that:interlayer displacement, layer displacement, and top floor speed and such structure seismic responses are declining after arranging viscoelastic damper in each level of pure frame structure; anti-seismic performance is better and structure seismic response is lighter in arranging evenly damper on two sides of the structure than mid span.Build successive approximation and weight coefficient arrangement these two damper optimal arranging plans, choose various earthquake wave to conduct time-history analysis and calculation under rare earthquake impact, compare seismic responses of these two damper optimal arrangement plans, compare the results with previous calculated pure frame structure and two-side evenly damper structure plans, and discusses the control effect of structure seismic responses of these four plans. Then individual feature of various arrangement plans will be obtained and damper arrangement ideas and suggestions shall be presented.This paper follows the current standards<Code for Concrete Structure Design>(GB50010-2010)> and <Code for Building Seismic Design>(GB50011—2010) to build calculation models. Through the results obtained, the plan is practical.
