With the rapid economic development, as well as with the increase in electricityconsumption, power quality problems are increasingly becoming the focus of power users.Transformation of urban distribution network, making the city electric power networkreliability has been great extent. However, the growing complexity of the distribution network.To improve the city’s overall distribution network of the technical and economic indicators,the implementation of distribution automation system is imperative. This article focuses onthe status of Chaoyang City distribution grid for a more comprehensive analysis, and in turndeveloped a design goal.Based on in-depth research and analysis status of automationtechnology on domestic and international distribution network, combined with the actualdistribution network in Chaoyang City, the power distribution grid automation comes tomaking a communication system construction, the master station and sub-station systemdesign, distribution network fault location, regulatory issues such as integrated managementplan elaborated in detail, given the overall design of the distribution network automationsystem and clarify its software and hardware architecture. Finally, after the transformation ofthe corresponding automated distribution network reliability indices were analyzed, theproject has a good economic and social benefits.
