The Study And Application Of Automatic Fault Location System In The Distribution Network

Fault location is one of the most important parts of distribution automation system. This paper introduces the development and application of distribution automation which have been implemented in the world, and proposes a new method of automatic fault location which utilizes the fault indicator and the main technology of other different kingdoms. The fault indicator detects fault of the distribution network, and sends a signal to sub-transmitter. Then, the ST transmits data to center station by the China mobile network. Soon the system which is base on the GIS finishes automatic fault location quickly. This paper analyses the application of automatic fault location in the Overhead line and the cable. The research in this paper can effectively guide the implementation of automation fault location, which is with great significance to the raising of the reliability of distribution network.
