Along with the gradually accelerating the pace of urbanization, urban GDP, and motorvehicle ownership are rising rapidly, the urban traffic problem is becoming more and morehighlighted. Urban main road, which is the core of the urban road, because of the large trafficvolume, vehicle type, bus and more general human characteristics, motorised vehicle is oftenthe frequency of the urban traffic problem. If from the cities along the main road of theintersection as a node, up from simple single point of signal control arterial traffic signalcoordinated control and even regional traffic signal coordination control, makes into the citymain road vehicles can clear through the intersection, signal for the driver to reach theintersection has been present for the green, then increase the continuity of the flow passage, toreduce the traffic congestion and traffic accidents, this is the green wave band. This articleobtains from the urban main road green wave band, the phase difference of the cities along themain road intersection, green letter than the traffic parameters.This paper illustrates the present research background and research status at home andabroad. Green wave band of the existing research results at home and abroad, both in theoryand in practice have gained considerable benefits., introduced the basic theory of urban mainroad green wave band, from a single point of signal control to arterial traffic signalcoordination control to the regional traffic signal coordination control, main focus on asingle point of signal control and traffic signal coordination control. Then, each method isdescribed in detail the basic parameters, the affected factors, the applicable scope of eachmethod is determined.This combined with the actual situation of the main ChengGuanOu lanzhou cityqingyang road, the along the intersection to signal coordination control. Are obtained throughthe scene actual survey traffic flow data, post-processing and analysis of traffic flow, designthe signal cycle,, phase difference and the basic parameters, such as tape speed to achieve theqingyang road green wave band. On VISSIM simulation platform, the signal timingoptimization of qingyang road main road before and after contrast, can directly see thelanzhou city qingyang road main road green wave band contribution in the aspect of improveintersection capacity, respectively from the average queue length and the Angle of maximumqueue length and the number of parking green wave band is evaluated.
