Along with social progress and economic development, the vehicle volume increased,and the city traffic problem became increasingly serious. The backbone roads of the city asthe main road in city traffic network, ensure that the city backbone road traffic flows smoothly,which is an important research object of the city to solve the problem of city traffic.Intersections are regarded as nodes in the transportation network, in order to ensure thatvehicles pass through the intersection in a safe and orderly manner, from simple tocanalization of intersection to regulate the traffic order at intersection, and to set signalizedintersections to control the passage of vehicles. But with the increase of traffic, according tothe different traffic flow of each intersection, set up different signal cycle and different ratioof green, vehicles often can not pass, need to stop waiting when arrive at the intersection. Inorder to solve this problem, realize the continuity of the city traffic backbone road traffic. Thispaper starts from the main city road traffic signal coordinated control, research on intersectionsignal cycle, phase difference, the green signal ratio.Firstly, introduce the research purpose, significance and research status at home andabroad. Signal coordinated control has been researched at home and abroad,not only theorybut also practice. Secondly, introduce the different methods of signal control, according to therange of different control, which can be divided into single intersection signal control method,control method of coordinated road signal, the regional traffic signal control method. Becauseof the need of this study, focuses on the analysis of the simple point timing signal control andtiming arterial signal coordination control. Then, system elaborated the principle and methodof coordinated control channel signal, and illustrate with example application traffic signalcoordination control in practice. The analysis of the main parameters of arterial signalcoordination and coordinated control signals of selection factors. According to the aboveprinciple and method, take Zhejiang province Jinhua City Eight-One South Street as theresearch object. the signal coordinated control for three consecutive cross Eight-One SouthStreet. Through the field survey to collect first hand traffic flow data, carries on the analysis tothe volume of traffic. The signal distribution for each intersection according to the trafficconditions of the existing intersection, determine the critical intersection of non criticalintersection rebalance timing, coordinated intersections within the scope of the study. In theVissim simulation platform, compared to the signal with Eight-One South Street on the mainroad, can see the city backbone road signal coordination control in improve the intersectioncapacity through the visual effect, the signal coordination control evaluation, mainly is theaverage queue length, maximum queue length and the number of parking etc..The last chapter,is a summary of this article, proposes some needs a place to continue to improve.
