Stacker-reclaimer is efficient process equipment for continuously loading andunloading modern industrial bulk materials, which is widely used in stockpile yardsuch as large cargo port, cement plant, light and chemical industry and so on. It cancomplete the process of stacking, taking and homogenizing. What’s more, it realizesstacking and taking materials simultaneously.For such a large mechanical handlingequipment, stacker-reclaimer’s metal structures typically accounts for80%to90%ofthe whole. So it is of great importance for the enterprises that whether the mechanicalproperties of the stacker-reclaimer’s main components meet the safety requirements,and whether their costs in line with the economic requirements.Currently, the designfor each steel parts of the stacker-reclaimer still stays at the phase of repeat thestructural analysis, design evo1ution and structure size re-adjustment by the designer.So there are low design efficiency, structural performance "surplus"and otherissues.Applied the parametric techniques and finite element analysis method to thestacker-reclaimer design can effectively improve design efficiency, reduce productioncosts, and rapidly respond to the diverse market demands.The main girder is an important steel structure of the reclaimer, which is the keystructure to support the reclaimer’s material rake system and scraper system. Thestructural strength and rigidity of the stacker-reclaimer determine its workingreliability and security. This paper mainly studies at the major component of bridgescraper reclaimer--reclaimer beams. In full knowledge of its geometric structure andits working principle, and based on the use of ANSYS’ re-develope tool APDL toparameterize the reclaimer beam’s construction model. Then, on this basis, make theparametric loading analysis, and reach the conclusion of the structural statics anddynamics characteristics. Finally, according to the analysis results, and adopt themethod of size structure optimization to optimize the beam structure, and thenvalidate the optimized results. This achieves the purpose of weight reduction andrealizes the entire process of the reclaimer beam’s parametric modeling, loading,solving and optimizing. It is of important practical significance for reducing thedesigners’ repetitive work, improving their work efficiency, meeting variousproduction capacity and customer demands, and increasing the product flexibility.
