The bucket wheel stacker/reclaimer as a continuous and efficient bulk material handling equipment is widely used in power plants, ports, mines, steel plants and cement plants and other major industrial fields. In order to meet market demand, enhance fine design, the parametric optimization design of the bucket wheel stacker/reclaimer is very urgent and vital. The upper structure C-beam has a large weight, the significance lies in its size optimization to enhance the machine’s weight、improve structural performance and reduce manufacturing costs. The main study object of this paper is to build the dimension driven designing model and FEA model for the intelligent design of the upper structure C-beam, verify the reliability of the results of the optimization based on the forefront of intelligent algorithms and bulk calculation and analysis. In this paper, progress has been made on the research about Parameterized analysis and design of the upper structure C-beam of bucket wheel stacker/reclaimer, based on the introduction of related literatures at home and abroad.The main work of this paper:1. Parameterized design technology based on INVENTOR: discussed the basic principle of parametric modeling about the upper structure C-beam in the 3D design software INVENTOR environment. According to the top-down design method, practice the entire process of 3D parametric modeling, and propose effective solutions about the prone to problems in modeling process.2. 3D model parameterized finite element analysis: use the APDL parametric programming language of ANSYS to pre-treated the force boundary conditions、 Materials and other parameters of the upper structure C-beam, by changing the design parameters of the parameter table, we can dire ctly obtained the distribution map of the stress and displacement of parameterized CAE. The main contents include the parameterized static analysis、modal analysis、 loading conditions and after-treated parameterized code compilation etc.3. Parameterized multi-objective optimized design: combined with structural features 、 product lightweight design theory and the design requirements of mechanical properties of the upper structure C-beam, use the multi-objective optimized design on the upper structure C-beam based on ANSYS, to determine the relevant parameters and empirical parameters of steel design, in order to get the optimal design parameters and quickly solve the complex engineering problems.The results of this study can significantly short the product development cycle of the bulk transport machinery designer, and from the theoretical level to ensure the lightweight and reliability of product design, with strong engineering application prospects..
