Self-centering rocking structures are prestresed wall structural system to providestructural stability, using swinging member to control lateral line mode variablestructures and energy dissipation devices to increase energy capacity of the structure.Such structures reduce not only the seismic response of the structure, but also canconcentrate the damage in specific energy components. The damage of the mainstructure is very small and residual deformation is significantly less than otherstructures. That self-centering rocking structures has a clear mechanism of injury, it ispossible to control the structure according to the actual needs of the residualdeformation, which increase the ability to restore the function of the structureearthquake. We discuss about this detailed analysis of the principles of self-centeringrocking structures and seismic performance, and made a lot of value on the basis ofquantitative statistical analysis of the design formulas provide a theoretical basis forthe subsequent self-resetting swing wall structural design.Major achievements of the dissertation are as follows:(1) Hysteretic behavior is studied by performing a low cyclic test cast columnsand column assembly. Secondly, the numerical model is studied through a preciseanalysis of the numerical model and unbonded post-tensioned prestressed rock pillartechniques were proposed based on the verification model. Residual deformation lawwas derived by studying its hysteretic behavior or structural components. Zhangstructure can effectively reduce the residual variation by the increase in unbondedtendons.(2) Slotted bottom wall structure was designed based on ABAQUS. Thisstructure can be adequately represented part of the structure and characteristics ofself-resetting swing wall structure. Slotted bottom wall structure can reduce crackingand damage using slit open the bottom of the wall. unbonded prestressed provided arestoring force structure to ensure its self-reset capability, while ordinary tendons toensure energy capacity.(3) Different rocking wall structures were built using OPENSEES designparameters and the seismic response in the mild earthquake and the strong earthquakewere simulated. Self-centering rocking structures has a clear mechanism of injury andthe role of the different components in the structure.(4) The residual deformation of the self-centering rocking structures werestudied using statistics, and the corresponding was established. The reasonability and feasibility of the residual deformation calculation method were verified through someexamples.
