Aerial ladder truck is an elevating vehicle equipped with telescopic ladder, turntable andfire-fighting apparatus, suitable for extinguishing high rise building fire and rescuing trappedpeople, which has become an important and indispensable device in the modern society. Ladderstructure, as the key core technique components, its rescue performance is quite critical for theability of fire-fighting. The design, analysis and manufacturing level of ladder structure directlyreflects the technique and product level of aerial ladder truck.Under the background of the Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Departmentsupported project “The key technology research of high-performance ladder system of aerialladder truck”, which is taken by the Hubei Institute of Specially Vehicle, taking the purpose ofproperties research and structure optimization of aerial ladder structure, this paper do the finiteelement static analysis and dynamics analysis such as modal and modal sensitivity analysis ofthe ladder structure, calculate the stress and strain and get the low-order modal frequency aswell as the sensitive location of ladder vibration mode. Combined with structural optimizationtheory and on the basis of the above research, this paper give the optimized modification of theaerial ladder truck. Then this paper verify the correctness and feasibility of the optimization inthe end. From the research above, it is seen that the CAD system and finite element analysis offersome guidelines for the design and production of the aerial ladder truck. It can greatly reducethe design cycle, improve the product performance, and avoid the risk of the structural damages.
