Instrument is very important science and technology resources, which is the basicconditions of scientific research, industrial production and so on. At the same time,Instrument is also an important support national socio-economic development. How tomake it more user-friendly and how to make it better adapted to different user needs havebecome an important subject. Against this background, the virtual instrument softwaresystem (VISS) is designed and developed for Programmable DC power supply andprogrammable multimeter.Firstly, this thesis introduces the concept, composition structure, characteristics andresearch status of virtual instrument, meanwhile, the requirement analysis of the virtualpanel of DC power supply, the virtual panel of multimeter and the main auxiliary functionmodules is described in detail, which is based on the function of DC power supply andmultimeter. According to the requirement of VISS, the development platform anddevelopment language of VISS are determined, and the system workflow, the systemarchitecture for local connection mode and remote connection mode, and also the datastorage structure for VISS are designed. Finally, the following chapters introduce thedesign and implementation of virtual panel of DC power, virtual panel of multimeter andthree main auxiliary function modules in detail, specially, the key technology and mainmethods used in VISS are presented in these chapters. For example:In order to improvethe user experience, the system designs a special method to adaptive baud rate ofinstruments, thus, users have no need to care about the baud rate of instrument; In order toincrease system maintainability, VISS uses the configuration files to dynamic initialize thevirtual panel of DC power interface; In addition, In the waveform display function, thesystem is designed to automatically adjust the display range according to the loaded datasets.This system can adaptively connect to instruments, monitor and control instruments, record data, display waveform, alarm when over-limit and so on. Besides, this system hasa good user experience, for it can adapt to new types of instrument and the process toconnect instruments is simple and convenient.
