Research On Construction Scheduling Method Based On BIM

Construction planning is always the fundamental work in the whole constructionproject implementation process. In recent years, with the progress of science andtechnology and the development of economy, more and more construction projectsbecome large-scale, complicated and difficulty. The traditional planning methods cannotbe adapted to the current environment of construction projects more than ever.Construction planning methods need to be change. The emergence of BIM technology hasbrought a rare opportunity for the construction industry. BIM technology is physical andfunctional characteristics of digital expression for a construction project. As a sharedknowledge resource, BIM technology provides a reliable basis for all the decisions in thewhole life of construction projects. BIM technology provides a new way for theconstruction project planning.With the development of information technology, the application of BIM technologyin various stages has attracted more and more people’s attention. How to use BIMtechnology for construction schedules is discussed in this thesis. The main contents of thisresearch are as follows: Firstly, based on a deep research in traditional constructionschedule planning process, the main problems in traditional planning process can beobtained. Secondly, through analyzing BIM technology deeply, the feasibility of usingBIM to get a construction schedules and the key points are derived in this process. Thirdly,the method how to achieve these key points is discussed, such as the creation andrecognition of BIM schedule units, the definition of logical relationship between theseBIM schedule units, and the generation of logical sequence. This thesis also discusses howto express construction schedules using BIM technology. Finally, how to use BIMtechnology to track actual schedule is also discussed.
