With the development of the urbanization over the world, the construction industry isexpanding at an unprecedented rate. Its energy consumption and industrial pollution, however, have posed many environmental problems. According to statistics, about45%of the totalcarbon emissions are produced by construction, while residential buildings are responsible fora large proportion of building carbon emission. Faced with the increasing pressure fromresource constraints, severe environmental pollution and deteriorating ecosystem, the wholebuilding industry must raise its ecological awareness and achieve sustainable development.Green Building in our country started late but has developed rapidly. In order to regulatethe field of the green building, green building environmental assessment systems haveemerged. This paper is a study on environmental performance assessment of green buildingsbased on BIM. By learning and absorbing the contents, methods and case studies related togreen building assessment at home and abroad, the paper gives full consideration to the rightdirection of development of green building evaluation and suggests a new approach to greenbuilding environmental performance assessment. At first, the article distinguishes the pertinent concepts of green building and defines itsconnotations and denotations. Then it summarizes the six kinds of green buildingenvironmental performance assessment systems from the perspectives of history, the subjectand contents of evaluation, methods and grading scales. After analyzing the limitations oftraditional environmental performance evaluation of green building, this paper proposes toapply BIM technology to the environmental performance assessment of green building andstudies the advantage of the application, thus establishing a BIM-based green buildingenvironmental assessment model.A careful study on green building, the thesis establishes on the foundations of pertinenttheories and documentary screening and integration an environmental assessment system ofgreen building, with the five parts of resource consumption, energy-saving, ecologicalenvironment, indoor environment and operation management at its core. By comparing allsorts of evaluation methods, the paper proposes the triangle fuzzy AHP for assessment as itemploys BIM analysis software to abstract and analyze the data collected from the BIMinformation indicator, which backs up the performance evaluation in the following stage. Finally, to examine the feasibility the paper combines a case study in structural engineeringwith the experimental application of the BIM information flow to the evaluation systemmodel.
